■ Lumibird Medical has launched a fully integrated Q-switched Nd:YAG and frequency doubled Nd:YAG laser for anterior-segment YAG and glaucoma indications. The company stated that the Tango Reflex Neo by Ellex features second-generation Reflex technology with true coaxial illumination. The feature reportedly enhances visualization of anterior and posterior segments.
According to a company news release, other new features include Imprint, a dynamic heads-up display with real-time view of treatment settings within the binoculars, joystick control of energy settings, and up to 2 mm YAG posterior offset, facilitating what the company calls PROcap, premium refractive outcome capsulotomies.
“PROcap is an alternative approach to Nd:YAG posterior capsulotomy, developed to improve the geometry of capsule openings, maximize IOL protection, and significantly reduce postoperative iatrogenic floaters,” Matthew Metcalfe, anterior-segment laser product manager at Lumibird Medical explained in a news release.
