Lumibird Medical announced the launch of Omnicad, an imaging platform with integrated artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to aid in the diagnosis of ocular surface disease (OSD). The device is available exclusively in the US market and is designed to meet the needs of optometrists and ophthalmologists with complete exams in pre and post OSD treatment, the company said in a press release. 

According to Delphine Southon, dry eye product manager at Lumibird Medical, the Omnicad integrates multiple exams such as transillumination meibography and features an autofocus HD camera for sharp image quality and automatic, accurate, and reproducible results. In addition, she says, the incorporated AI is based on algorithms derived from more than 1 million clinically validated images.
