■ Although the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society are against the use of marijuana as a glaucoma therapy, a survey of 60 medical marijuana dispensaries found that employees at 58% of these dispensaries recommended marijuana as a valid glaucoma therapy. The dispensary employees responded to questions from callers who said they had glaucoma and wanted guidance on the use of medical marijuana for the disease. The survey was led by Jordan Stanley, MD, of the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Colorado School of Medicine.
