Microsurgical Technology (MST) has partnered with Vista Ophthalmics to globally launch the Vista 1-Step and Vista IS, 2 surgical tools aimed at improving vitrectomy procedures, the company announced in a press release. The Vista 1-Step is a 27-gauge vitrector with a dual blade cutter, offering up to 11,000 cuts per minute and eliminating the need for MVR blades or trocars. The accompanying Vista IS is an anterior chamber maintainer designed to improve infusion during vitreous removal.
MST reports it will debut the Vista line at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) annual meeting October 18-21 in Chicago, with international expansion to follow. Vista Ophthalmics was founded by Jeffrey C. Whitsett, MD.
