Case Title: Complications in Canaloplasty, by Poonam Misra, MD
Dr. Shukla: Hey Poonam, tell us more about your case today.
Dr. Misra: Today I presented a case of a procedure we do fairly often, canaloplasty, but unfortunately the patient developed a Descemet’s detachment. With the assistance of our cornea colleagues, we tried multiple maneuvers in the office to repair the detachment but ultimately went back to the OR to remove the trapped viscoelastic using a new break in Descemet’s membrane. Then we were able to reattach Descemet’s membrane successfully.
Dr. Shukla: In ophthalmology, it’s always nice to take a team-based approach to some of these tough cases. I’m glad you had a great outcome! GP
